Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA across the site and the browser extension.

What is in place

• A skip link, landmarks and headings in order on every page.
• Light, dark and automatic themes, and text that reflows at 200% zoom.
• Indicators are always labelled in words, never by colour alone.
• Reduced motion is respected; the phone feed stops snapping when it is set.
• Every page works without scripts, apart from filters and highlights, which add to it.

Known gaps

• The map of places is a picture; the same places are listed as buttons beside it.
• Some older article images have no description because the publisher provided none.
