The Fremantle Dockers mega-fans who tied the knot before a heartbreaking Grand Final loss have revealed how their dream day turned to devastation.
Danni Bloomfield and Matt Abbott were wearing Dockers scarves as they were wed on Saturday morning outside of the MCG ahead of the g rand final match against the Brisbane Lions .

The happy couple of 15 years told Sunrise they had originally planned to get married in Geraldton, WA, a week after the final, but brought their big day forward after their team made the Preliminary Final.
“So we decided to come to the grand final just in case Fremantle got in, that’s when the wedding venue changed to the MCG,” Abbott said.
“The fact that Freo got in, put the extra icing on the cake ... So yeah, it all just lined up.”
Bloomfield described the day as a “whirlwind” as close friends travelled to celebrate their union in anticipation of the Dockers winning their first ever AFL premiership.
While the premiership trophy appeared to be safely in the hands of Dockers with just four minutes left, a flurry of Brisbane goals broke the hearts of fans.
Bloomfield said the said was “not quite what we expected” but added that it was “an amazing day”.
“I’m just incredibly proud of the guys, the effort they put in,” Abbott said.
You couldn’t ask for a better show up ... And we’re so sad for them.”
While watching Dockers captain Alex Pearce go down with an achillies injury in the third quarter was “heartbreaking” for the couple, Abbott added that they have high hopes for next season.
“We know the guys are going to be firing, fit next year and ready to go again.”
“So, it might be time to book the flights again.”
