Patrols first spotted the e‑bike travelling at high speed on Military Rd at Semaphore Park about 7.30pm on Friday.
When they tried to stop the rider, he refused and allegedly took off through back streets, weaving south through the western suburbs.
PolAir picked up the pursuit from above and tracked the teen from Semaphore to West Beach, where he abandoned the e‑bike on the beach.
Officers moved in and arrested the Marryatville boy before he could run.
He has been charged with several traffic offences, including driving at a speed and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.
He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Youth Court on November 12.
