Four people have been charged by detectives almost two weeks after a man was shot in the stomach, forcing a suburb into lockdown.
The 37-year-old man was walking near the corner of Karda Way and Yongka Rd in Hamilton Hill, a suburb of Perth ’s south, about 4.30am on September 13 when he was seriously injured, WA Police said.
He was rushed to hospital but has since been discharged.
The state’s Police Commissioner Col Blanch said on Tuesday he was “fairly confident the team know what’s occurred, know who has participated in that, but we have to meet a required threshold before we proceed with charging”.
Following “extensive inquiries”, detectives swooped on four people across different suburbs north and south of the Swan River on Thursday.
A 47-year-old man from O’Connor, a 39-year-old man from Aveley, a 45-year-old man from Success and a 49-year-old woman from Hamilton Hill were charged with attempting to unlawfully kill.
All four accused have been refused bail and will appear in court in October.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
