A man wearing a balaclava and carrying a hammer entered the Beach Rd store inside the Colonnades shopping centre at Noarlunga about 8.30pm on Thursday.

He allegedly used the hammer to smash a glass cabinet before grabbing a quantity of Pokemon cards and fleeing through the northern carpark.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Police searched the area on Thursday night but were initially unable to find the suspect.

Detectives later attended a Christies Beach address and arrested a 29-year-old man.

He has been charged with breaching a bail agreement, carrying an offensive weapon, property damage, theft and carrying an article of disguise.

The man was refused bail and is expected to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court.
