The 44-year-old man was found seriously injured at the intersection of Mandurah and Chesterfield Rds in East Rockingham about 7.30pm on Friday.
Police said his injuries were “consistent with stab wounds” and he was rushed to Rockingham General Hospital, where he later died.
A vehicle believed to be connected to the incident was found burnt out soon after about 30km east on Pitman Rd in Byford.
“Detectives are urging anyone who saw a blue Hyundai Getz driving erratically within the greater Rockingham and Byford areas, or who has CCTV footage or dash-cam vision relating to this incident, to contact Crime Stoppers,” police said.
