A friend of Beau Lamarre-Condon told the court the murder accused had asked what she would do if he said, "I killed somebody".
Mr Lamarre-Condon is standing trial after pleading not guilty to murdering Mr Baird and his new boyfriend, Luke Davies, with his service pistol inside Mr Baird's Paddington terrace in February 2024.
The Crown alleges he formed an obsessive and jealous infatuation with Mr Baird, with whom he had been romantically involved with in 2022 and parts of 2023, and allegedly stalked the television presenter, interfered with his phone and Instagram, and broke into his house at least twice.
Witness Georgia Cook met the defendant at a boat party in 2021 and became friends.
The NSW Supreme Court heard that in mid-April 2023, they spoke about Mr Lamarre-Condon and Mr Baird sending each other "breakup goodbye" messages after Mr Baird said he did not want anything serious.
The following month, when Ms Cook had dinner with Mr Lamarre-Condon, he told her he had been watching Mr Baird from outside his house.
Ms Cook said Mr Lamarre-Condon told her about another time where he had seen Mr Baird taking photos of other people with a polaroid camera, which Mr Lamarre-Condon had before bought.
Mr Lamarre-Condon has also pleaded not guilty to a charge of aggravated break and enter, related to an incident at the Paddington terrace in August 2023.
The Crown has told jurors, in an opening address, that Mr Lamarre-Condon activated a burner phone, used a hire car, and waited near the Paddington property for three hours on February 19, 2023.
