Presley Gerber, the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and entrepreneur Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed Presley died at a rehabilitation centre on Sunday, local time.
An autopsy is yet to be completed and a cause of death has not been determined.
A representative for Crawford, her husband Rande Gerber and their daughter Kaia Gerber, confirmed to TMZ that Presley had died.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the representative told the outlet.
Presley was arrested in 2019 for driving under the influence and was sentenced to three years of probation and to complete a driver’s program.
He opened up about his struggles with addiction and mental health in a now-deleted post to Instagram last year, admitting to treating “panic attacks” with drugs such as Xanax and Valium.
Presley’s 25-year-old sister Kaia spoke about how much her brother’s decade-long addiction had impacted the family earlier this year.
“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” Kaia told Vogue.
“I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing.”
