After an unforgettable semi final, only four artists remain in the running for The Voice crown.
Team Kate’s Daisha Auda (QLD), Team Melanie C’s Yung Milla (NT), Team Richard’s Tommy Novak (NSW) and Team Ronan’s The 60Four (SA) will all compete in the grand final on Sunday night.
On Sunday night, The Voice coaches faced their toughest decisions yet, choosing just one grand finalist each before handing the power over to Australia.
Yung Milla’s reimagining of Men At Work’s Land Down Under brought the studio to its feet.
Blending didgeridoo, choir, personal storytelling and an original rap, his performance transformed the Australian anthem into a powerful celebration of culture, resilience and hope.
Drawing on his own experiences growing up, Yung Milla paid tribute to his mother, whom he credits with teaching him resilience and shaping the man he is today.
The rendition, coupled with a surprise appearance by Yung Milla’s mum at the end of the song, left both the audience and coaches visibly moved.
Fighting back tears, Melanie C praised her artist’s courage and creativity, admitting: “So powerful. I was so worried I’d thrown too much at you.”
Kate Miller-Heidke declared: “You turned the song on its head and gave it extra potency, power, a little bit of darkness and a lot of hope. I’m in awe.”
Richard Marx added: “Every once in a while, somebody comes along who revolutionises the genre, who revolutionises an artform and, Yung Milla, you are that guy.”
Tommy booked his place in the grand finale with a heartfelt performance of Robbie Williams’ Angels.
After challenging Tommy to trust his instincts and stay out of his own head, Richard praised his growth as an artist.
Daisha’s stirring rendition of Andra Day’s Rise Up saw Melanie C praise the 15-year-old’s maturity and commanding stage presence.
Kate celebrated her versatility, describing the naturally gifted singer, who has never had a singing lesson, as someone with “so much soul” and always ready to embrace a challenge.
The 60Four rounded out the grand final lineup as the competition’s only remaining band.
Their high-energy performance of Earth, Wind & Fire’s September, complete with slick choreography and trademark harmonies, impressed.
Ronan Keating praised the group not only for their “insane vocals” but also for their character, telling them they were “a credit to yourselves and your parents”.
Despite delivering semi final performances, Charlotte June, Leyla Sabo, Taylor Beadle-Williams and Tika Cetinich were farewelled from the competition.
With voting lines open, Daisha Auda, The 60Four, Tommy Novak and Yung Milla are just one step away from claiming a $100,000 cash prize, an all-inclusive Hive Sound Studios recording and development package, and the coveted title of The Voice Australia winner.
